Table 6

The file table6.dta contains a STATA data file with the data for
Table 6 of Katz and Krueger (1992).  The file contains the exact
variables used in the analysis, and the original variables from
which the variables were derived.  The following table lists the
variable name, location on the Summer '91 questionnaire from which
the variable was coded (unless the variable was derived from other
variables), and a description of the variable.  Means of the
variables are listed in the following page.

*As explained in footnote 9 of Katz and Krueger (1992), the wage
rate is the starting wage of part-time workers if one is available,
and the starting wage of full-time workers if the part-time wage
was not available.  In the vast majority of cases when both a full-
and part-time wage were available, the starting wages were
